I love David Rubridge's designs, so found this idea on his website particularly inspiring.

Why fill a truck with one tree,

when the cost to the Earth is reduced

by packing in boxes of seed?

You receive the seed of a lightshade,

and have fun and satisfaction

making it grow yourself.

Your tree fills into the space;

the patterns of its leaves

calm with their shade.

It nourishes with its fruit,

and keeps the balance of life.

The idea ripples out

and spreads to the world,

which becomes a brighter place.

Yep, this pretty much sums up the good life for me.

Recycled Shadow

Rotating windmill shadows moving in the summer breeze. Sounds like the perfect balcony cover. You would just need the patience to create each windmill out of newspaper waste.
I will add it to the to do list and in the mean time just appreciate the beautiful installations by Spanish architectural collective Meva

Right in front of you

Ive just read this article about a one of the few houses in Australia that genuinely lives up to the ‘sustainable living’ catchcry... and it looks so familiar.
I think its the one I would ride past on my bike and try and get a peek in.
Sometimes the most inspiring things are happening right in front of you.

Plumen

I'm on the constant search for pretty energy efficient lightglobes.
Seeing this new range from Plumen prompted me to blog again

Seasonal Concepts

I must have walked past Season Concepts in Redfern so many times as it's been there for around 2 years.
From out front it looks like a florist, nothing much grabs the eye. Walk a few steps in and you are in another world.
So much taxidermy and eerie objects the place could be a bit too creepy, but they stand against the prettiest of things that you are mesmerised to be in the store.
The website too doesn't do it justice, believe me the place is a stylist dream.
Could possibly be my latest favorite Sydney store.
